It was epic.
I want to win a book!Valette M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/06636442713682043608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4754456360798018533.post-28427238502946105362013-08-03T21:09:33.484-06:002013-08-03T21:09:33.484-06:00Jaina, thank you so much for your comment! I'm not sure if I've read that one or not! I'll have to search around a bit to see if I can find a version of it. You can buy a version of my favorite Ananse story, which is about how Ananse acquired stories from the Sky God here. And you can watch a YouTube video of the animated story here.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4754456360798018533.post-61824165223762234092013-08-03T12:51:53.451-06:002013-08-03T12:51:53.451-06:00My brother and I studied that period of history fo...My brother and I studied that period of history for a while, and my mother (ever one for enforcing extra reading) got a pile of Anansi books from the library. Now, maybe it's because those were just another bunch of "Mom books" (she makes us read one of her books for every book we read for fun), but I didn't really care that much one way or another about them. But i did find it interesting, in retrospect, the type of tales connected with him. There was one - something about a snake, immortality, and reaching the bottom of the ocean (via eating a bunch of stones, I think) that struck me as being so different from our own tales as being from an entirely different world - which in some ways, it was.Jainanoreply@blogger.com
